Jason Williams Returns to the NBA signs with Magic

In what has been a very active offseason to say the least for the Orlando Magic, they have signed yet another player-this time point guard Jason Williams.

Williams had signed a 1-year contract with the Los Angeles Clippers last season only to walk away from it when he had found out his wife was going through complications during pregnancy with their third child.

The Clippers let go of his rights only to be picked up by the New York Knicks. But he then became an unrestricted free agent when then they didn't sign him.

The Memphis Grizzles, the last team Jason Williams played for, were also in the running for his services. But in the end, it was being close to his family by playing in Orlando and their chances for an NBA title that pushed him to sign wtih the Magic.

Williams is used to playing in the state of Florida as he played college basketball at the University of Florida and played with the Miami Heat during the 2005-06 season before his stint wtih the Grizzles.

He will be reunited with Stan Van Gundy, who was the Miami Heat's head coach before stepping down and being replaced by Pat Riely.

It has been a very busy offseason for the defending Eastern Conference Champions Orlando Magic. They have traded for Guard Vince Carter, they signed free agents Brandon Bass and Matt Barnes, and retained the free agency rights of Marcin Gortat.

Wow. I didn't even know that he was still playing! I remember years back when the other Jason Williams from the New Jersey Nets was brought up charges for killing his chauffeur with a shotgun. I bet you remember that!

Yeah, I kind of lost track of him, too! I am glad he is back, I actually went to UF when he played basketball there. I saw him playing basketball behind my dorm and I remember saying to myself, 'who is that white kid?'. I thought he was just a fancy show off bench warmer, but of course the season started and he was the star of the team.

Speaking of Jayson Williams, yeah I remember him! I found this link that you might find interesting:
