I am a HUGE fan of the Orlando Magic.  I have been a fan since 1989 when they first entered the NBA.

I have gone through a lot of ups and downs as an Orlando Magic fan.  I was elated when the Magic went to the NBA Finals during the 1994-1995 season but lost to the Houston Rockets. 

I was further CRUSHED when the Magic lost Shaquille O'Neal to the L.A. Lakers following the loss.  Talk about adding insult to injury!

So there it was Penny Hardaway during 1995-1996 to lead the Magic with Horace Grant back to the promise land.  Unfortunately, the Magic would lose the following season in the playoffs to Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.

After that, there wasn't much to cheer about throughout the years.  The Magic did receive some big-time free agents during the course of the years (Grant Hill, Tracy McGrady) but nothing ever panned out.

Then in 2004 the Magic hit the lottery once again and selected a high schooler by the name of Dwight Howard.

Howard had gone through some growing pains (and is still really) but he has turned out to be a Hall of Famer in the making (IMO).

The Magic went back to the NBA Finals in 2008-2009 but unforunately suffered the same fate as that famous, young team from 94-95.

Still, the Magic are a young and upcoming team, and they will be challenging the Cavs and Celtics and whoever comes up their way for years to come.
